Purpose & Explanation
Firehouse Subs Foundation grant funding could provide the Hudson Fire Department with and electronic fire extinguisher training tool that would allow them to train businesses, residents and students on proper use of a fire extinguisher. The cost of the training tool is approximately $15,300. Currently the Fire Department must do all extinguisher training outdoors using live fire and charged extinguishers. The training tool would allow them to conduct training indoors, in a safer and more efficient manner and be able to offer training to a wider audience.

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager, or her designee, to apply for grant funding from Firehouse Subs Foundation to fund an electronic fire extinguisher training tool for the Hudson Fire Department.
