Executive Summary: As necessitated with passage of 131 Senate Bill 172, this Ordinance will amend Hudson’s Tax Code pertaining to the timing of income tax withholding payments by employers.

Purpose & Explanation
With passage of 131 Senate Bill 172, changes to Ohio Revised Code Chapter 718 became effective on September 14, 2016. This Ordinance will amend the Hudson’s Tax Code, so that local income tax regulations comply with ORC Chapter 718. The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA), which collects and administers Hudson’s income taxes, notified employers of the new state code requirements and implemented changes as of September 14, 2016.
