Legislative History
The Charter states that City Council shall meet regularly at such times as prescribed by its rules, but not less frequently than twice each month. Pursuant to the Council Rules, Chapter 220 of the Codified Ordinances, regular meetings of Council shall be held in the Council Chambers at 27 East Main Street on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m., and workshop meetings of City Council shall generally take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays and shall be held at 7:30 p.m.
Purpose & Explanation
The proposed 2017 meeting schedule follows the established rules of Council, allowing for recess periods in mid-summer and late December, which include holidays recognized by the City.

Upon approval, the 2017 Council meeting schedule will be published.

Suggested Action
Staff recommends approval of the schedule of regular 2017 meetings and workshops and asks for Council direction regarding the scheduling of a retreat and annual tour regarding roads, stormwater and economic development.
