AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 280 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES REGARDING THE COMMUNITY TELEVISION ADVISORY COMMITTEE. (as revised 3-7-2017)

Executive Summary:  This Ordinance reflects changes to the Committee’s name, terms, term limits, and other general updates.

Body

Legislative History

Ordinance No. 94-152, establishing the Cable Television Advisory Committee, adopted December 21, 1994.

Purpose & Explanation

During 2016, the City Manager changed the City’s public television station’s name from Hudson Cable Television to Hudson Community Television.  It is Council’s desire to update Chapter 280 of the Codified Ordinances to reflect a new name for the advisory committee, as well as to change the length of member terms and term limits to be consistent with most other boards, commissions, and committees.  Except for the Personnel Advisory and Appeals Board, other term lengths are four years, and terms are limited to three consecutive full terms.  In addition, some general updates are included in this Ordinance.
