Executive Summary: This Resolution will provide authorization for the City Manager to enter into contract with Century Equipment to replace a contour/rough rotary mower for maintenance of the Ellsworth Meadows Golf Course.

Purpose & Explanation
The golf course is in need of replacing its contour rotary mower based on age and condition. Staff obtained quotes from turf equipment companies and compared pricing and trade in values based on state term pricing (800261-STS515). The state term price of the mower from Century Equipment is $65,563.14 which is the best available price. Staff wishes to execute the purchase at this time.
Equipment Detail:
Contour/Rough Mower
-2017 scheduled replacement. Budgeted amount $70,000.00
-Golf course use. Daily mowing of golf rough and practice facilities
-2009 Jacobsen 5111 wide area mower. 4000 hours. These hours are excessive. 2500 recommended life cycle hours.
-Mowing decks are worn out (unable to hold accurate height of cut), hydraulic system failure, electrical system failure. Down time exceeds acceptable limit.
Timing Considerations
This piece of equipment is needed for the 2017 growing season, therefore staff requests emergency language be added to the legislation.
