Purpose & Explanation
As per the 2017 approved Parks Department budget, staff has obtained pricing for the purchase of one replacement compact track loader utilizing GSA contract schedule pricing (#GS-30F-1021H) in the amount of $63,503.00. This piece of equipment will be purchased through Baker Vehicle Systems.
Equipment Detail
Compact Track Loader
-2017 scheduled replacement. Budgeted $65,000.00
-Park use. Heavy loading of materials, excavation, land clearing, trail maintenance, tree planting. This new machine will also be fitted with snow removal equipment (snow blade system) which will allow current snow machine and equipment to be auctioned or repurposed at a savings of $12,715.
-2004 New Holland. 1400 hours. Excess wear and tear
-Hydraulic system failure. System is too weak for safe loading of heavy materials and clearing applications. All lift cylinders are in need of line bore welding for safe boom usage.
-Repairs/upgrades would likely exceed current value.
