Purpose & Explanation
As per the 2017 approved Parks Department budget, Parks staff has solicited pricing for the purchase of splash pad materials and system components for installation of a splash pad at Veterans Way Park. Utilizing U.S. Communities Cooperative Pricing Program contract #110179, the cost of materials and components is $40,256. Items include but are not limited to controls, valves, pipe assembles etc... The splash pad materials will be purchased through GameTime, c/o David Williams & Associates, Inc.
Of the $215,000 budgeted for this project, $140,000 will be funded by the Park Fund, and $75,000 has been donated by the Hudson Kiwanis. After the purchase of the materials and components for $40,256, the remaining $174,744 will be used for the construction and installation of the splash pad structure and all utilities.
The estimated annual maintenance expense for the splash pad and associated components is $4,000 - $5,000 for scheduled service, system cleaning, and winterization.
