Legislative History
Resolution No. 16-190 provided permission to seek bids and competitive pricing for the 2017 budget year.
Purpose & Explanation
This surface drainage project is needed to eliminate damage that occurs to the golf course grounds by golf carts as well as mowing equipment as a result of inadequate drainage. Throughout the years the areas of the course which have been most affected by these conditions have been identified and documented by staff. A map of these locations has been attached for review. Completion of this work will reduce future repairs and materials costs. These drainage improvements will also result in improved playability of the golf course for customers. This project is very similar in nature to the 2007 drainage that was installed on the putting greens and resolved all of the issues with damage at that time.
The 2017 budget for this project is $100,000. Staff solicited competitive bids for the provision of pipe per linear foot, catch basins and construction costs. The low bid for the material quantities and installation is $80,000. A bid tab has been attached for review. Materials provided by the City for the project consist of back fill soil mix and gravel which will be purchased in-house and will not exceed $20,000.
