A presentation and discussion of the feasibility of installing a photovoltaic solar power system on a portion of the former YDC property.
Executive Summary: In the first quarter of 2017 City Council requested information on the feasibility of installing a solar power system to Hudson’s municipal electric distribution system to help offset a portion of the City’s overall power purchases. The City’s electric system consultant Mr. John Courtney of Courtney & Associates will present information regarding the potential advantages of installing such a system, the pricing we would expect to see per KWh, and the potential offsets in power, transmission and capacity costs.

Purpose & Explanation
Based on the presentation material and the recommendation of the consultant staff is requesting permission to move forward with the planning of the project.
1. Further investigation and survey of proposed location and interconnection sites.
2. Develop formal project costs (in-house HPP cost) for infrastructure and interconnections.
3. Develop RFP for project specifications timelines and construction; evaluation and recommendation of proposals
4. Return to Council for review of internal costs and authorization to enter into an agreement for the design and construction of the system and a power sales agreement.
