Executive Summary:  The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency offers mini grants for educational programming targeted at environmental issues in Ohio where is a significant need for more education and awareness.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff has submitted an application to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for $2,000 in funding for educational workshops on composting.  The City of Hudson Public Works Department staff will partner with Environmental Awareness Committee, Keep Hudson Beautiful, and Friends of Hudson Parks to assist with programming.  A 10% match is required.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council affirm the City Manager’s designee’s application to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for an Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant on behalf of the Public Works Department.
