Body

Legislative History

Resolution 16-190 granted staff permission to publically advertise for goods and services including tree planting services.

Purpose & Explanation

The Public Works Department budgets annually for contract tree planting services along various streets within Hudson, on the public greens, and on public properties.  The Public Works Department budgets for this contract via the Street Trees & Greens budget.  The total number of trees planted under this contract is based on the funds allocated as part of the annual budget.  Staff expects that amount to be $10,000 in 2018 with an anticipated increase in 2019.

The Public Works Department received two (2) bids for this contract.  The contract is a two (2) year contract, with an option to renew for two (2) additional years based on adequate performance and if pricing remains reasonable.  The attached bid tabulation shows the current contract and the two (2) bidders for the new contract.  The new contract amount represents a 19.35% cost increase per tree from the current contract.

Timing Considerations

The two (2) year contract begins on January 1, 2018 and concludes on December 31, 2019.
