Executive Summary:  As a participant in the EcoSmart Choice Program, the City applied for and was awarded a 2017 Sustainability Grant from American Municipal Power.

Legislative History

Resolution No. 16-100, authorized the City Manager to enter into an Agreement with AMP to purchase renewable energy certificates and offer Hudson Public Power customers the option to participate in the AMP EcoSmart Choice Program; passed July 19, 2016.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff applied for the funding on September 5, 2017, as a demonstration of the City of Hudson’s commitment to sustainability initiatives.  Staff received notice on September 18 that the City of Hudson had been awarded a $22 grant, and a check had been sent to the City Manager.  The funds will be used for the purchase of LED lightbulbs with an energy saver card for give-away kits.

Staff recommends that Council affirm the application and acceptance of the 2017 Sustainability Grant from American Municipal Power.
