A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM ("STBG") FUNDS, RESURFACING PROGRAM FUNDS, AND TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES SET ASIDE ("TASA") FUNDING PROGRAMMED BY THE AKRON METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSPORTATION STUDY ("AMATS") TO CONSTRUCT THE VARIOUS PROJECTS LISTED HEREIN; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Executive Summary: This legislation is necessary to apply to AMATS for federal funds.

Purpose & Explanation
This is a request to submit the following applications to AMATS for Federal Funding assistance for the following projects:
STBG Project Application Funding:
1.) State Route 91 South Safety Improvement Project (Veterans Way to Barlow Road)
Total Estimated Project Cost: $8.5 million
STBG Fund Request: $2.9 million
RESURFACING Project Application Funding:
1.) Stow Road (SR 303 to North of Red Coach Lane-Pvt.)
Total Estimated Project Cost: $250,000
Resurfacing Fund Request: $200,000
2.) Ravenna Street (SR 91 to N. Hayden Parkway)
Total Estimated Project Cost: $250,000
Resurfacing Fund Request: $200,000
3.) Terex Road (SR 91 to SR 303)
Total Estimated Project Cost: $700,000
Resurfacing Fund Request: $560,000
TASA Project Application Funding:
1.) Veterans Trail Phase 2 (Morse at Owen Brown Street to Prospect and Hines Hill Road)
Total Estimated Project Cost: $1,850,000
TASA Fund Request: $500,000
The right-of-way acquisition & construction cost funding will be split 80%/20% (Federal/City). The City of Hudson will be required to perform all engineering, any other misc. improvement costs at 100% local funds.
Timing Considerations
Following the approval of City Council, this legislation will be submitted to AMATS with the individual project applications.
