Title

A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER’S DESIGNEE’S ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM EMS OUTREACH OF HUDSON.

Executive Summary:  EMS Outreach of Hudson was founded to provide support to expand Hudson EMS within the community through advocacy, coordination of auxiliary activities, public awareness, technical assistance, funding, and training.

Body

Legislative History

Resolution No. 16-188, affirming the City Manager’s application to OBWC for a Safety Intervention Grant, passed December 6, 2016.

Resolution No. 17-58, affirming the City Manager’s acceptance of an OBWC Safety Intervention Grant to reimburse a portion of the funding necessary to purchase a power ambulance cot and power cot loading system; passed April 4, 2017.

Purpose & Explanation

The City of Hudson received funds from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to partially fund the purchase of a Stryker Power Cot and Loader for a Hudson ambulance.  The City’s match for the Cot and Loader was approximately $11,000.  The Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation did not fund the warranty for the power cot and loader.  EMS Outreach of Hudson raised $8,000 towards the purchase of an extended warranty.  Any remaining funds left after paying for the extended warranty would be used to fund the City’s match for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation grant.

Timing Considerations

EMS Outreach of Hudson presented the check to the Hudson EMS on September 1, 2017.  The power load system was installed into the ambulance in August 2017 and became operational immediately after installation.
