Executive Summary:  The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency awards Litter Management Grants for the purpose of supporting community based litter collections.

Legislative History

Resolution 16-71 authorized the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the OEPA to accept a Litter Management Grant to assist in funding the cost of training required for the City to acquire a “Keep America Beautiful” affiliation, passed May 3, 2016.

Resolution 17-109 expressed support for Keep America Beautiful, Inc. and established the “Keep Hudson Beautiful” Committee, passed July 18, 2017.

Purpose & Explanation

There is an annual renewal fee of $550.00 for “Keep America Beautiful” affiliations.  The Litter Management Grant of $500.00 can be used towards the renewal fee.  A 10% match of $50 is required.

Staff recommends the City Council affirm the application submitted by the City Manager’s designee to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for a Litter Management Grant to substantially fund the cost of the “Keep Hudson Beautiful” renewal fee.
