Title
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH LEBANON FORD FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO POLICE VEHICLES.
Executive Summary: This project involves the replacement of two (2) police patrol vehicles currently in the 2018 budget.
Body
Legislative History
Ordinance No. 17-184, adoption of the 2018 Budget, passed on November 21, 2017.
Purpose & Explanation
As discussed during the budget meetings last year, the Police Department would like to purchase two vehicles, which are replacement cruisers, for two (2) 2015 Ford Explorer cruisers. The two requested cruiser replacements are in line with Fleet Departments recommendations for replacement.
The pricing for these replacement cruisers fall under Ohio State Contract RS900718 (New, Model Year 2018 or Manufacturer's Current Production Model - Law Enforcement Vehicles - effective through 9/30/2018) which was awarded to Lebanon Ford to supply the state of Ohio and political subdivisions with 2018 Ford NGPI-Utility vehicles. The Ohio STS pricing was again lower than other cooperative purchasing programs (GSA, CUE) for these law enforcement specific vehicles.
Vehicle #3 has 103,718 miles, and #8 has 70,638. Vehicle #8 is in use and will exceed the 100,000-mile mark by its scheduled replacement this fall.
The total cost for these two replacement vehicles is $54,528.00 (2 @$27,264.00). The purchase price is within the 2018 budget amount of $57,656.00
