17-163 authorized the City Manager to apply for Community Development Block Grant funding from Summit County.

Purpose & Explanation

The City of Hudson was awarded $75,000 for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) renovations for the new administration building at 1140 Terex Road that will house the new city administration offices.  The Community Development Block Grant will fund renovations necessary, including a ramp and ADA accessible restrooms, for senior citizen accessibility in the mixed-use space.

The funds must be spent by the end of October 2018.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to accept the Community Development Block Grant from Summit County for the Americans with Disabilities Act renovations to allow for senior citizen use of the new administration building.
