Brief Description: This contract is for the professional services to program, set-up, test, and commission the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to incorporate the programmable logic controllers and other various pieces of equipment associated with the installation of the Brine Well Project.

Purpose & Explanation
This service entails the following tasks: Programmable Logic Controller programming, screen development, database development, furnish various propriety components, field commissioning/ startup and finalized documentation/ print generations. The SCADA control equipment currently used at the water plant utilizes proprietary communications devices that are sole sourced through a local vendor. To save additional markup charges that would be incurred as a result of including this portion of work within the main project, staff planned to handle this detail internally.
The City Administration is requesting City Council authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Summit Office Solutions (SOS Integration) , 526 South Main Street, Suite 412, Akron, Ohio as the sole source provider for the required SCADA equipment and services for the Brine Well Project for the total amount of $34,150.00.
