Body

Legislative History

Ordinance 18-162 - Authorized the issuance of $5,650,000 in bonds for the purchase and renovation of the new city hall

Resolution 19-33 - Authorized contract with Augere Construction Company for the city hall renovation project

Purpose & Explanation

The purpose of the resolution is to authorize the financing of the increased cost of improvements to the new city hall.  The increased costs were due to construction bids coming in higher than the engineer’s original estimate.  The project was re-bid and bids came in even higher due to increased labor costs as a result of skilled labor shortage and limited contractor availability.
