A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A GROUND LEASE AGREEMENT AND AN ACCESS AND UTILITY EASEMENT THERETO WITH CELLCO PARTNERSHIP, d/b/a VERIZON WIRELESS.
Brief Description: Cellco Partnership, d/b/a Verizon Wireless is preparing to install communications equipment on the AT&T cell tower located on Hines Hill Road. Verizon Wireless will collocate on the AT&T tower and as such requires additional ground space below the tower for the placement of ground mounted equipment. In addition, Verizon Wireless will enter into an access easement agreement to allow access to the ground equipment enclosure area and the existing cell tower. City staff seeks legislation to execute the agreement at this time.

Purpose & Explanation
Cellco Partnership, d/b/a Verizon Wireless has recently entered into an agreement to collocate communications equipment on the AT&T cell tower located on Hines Hill Road adjacent to the N&S railroad tracks. Verizon Wireless will also enter into an access easement agreement. AT&T has been under a lease agreement with the City for the current ground space footprint on which the tower is located for several years and current annual rent for that space is $24,150.00. Verizon Communications has requested to lease additional ground space from the City for the installation of its ground equipment. The space requested is directly adjacent to AT&T's ground enclosure and is a relatively small space. A schematic drawing has been attached as a reference. The City Solicitor's Office with Verizon Communications representatives have negotiated and developed the agreements for City Council approval.
