Brief Description:   This request will enable Velocity Broadband to amend and renew its contract with Zayo (formally Crown Castle Fiber) for a three year term while also increasing the allotted bandwidth to 10Gbps which will match our other upstream circuits.

Purpose & Explanation

Velocity Broadband currently has a contract with Zayo, formally Crown Castle Fiber, LLC, for a 5 Gbps dedicated internet circuit for a monthly rate of $3,350. Staff is requesting approval to renew this contract and upgrade the dedicated internet circuit to 10Gbps on a 36 month term at a new monthly rate of $2,900. The total value of the contract over the 36 month term is $104,400. This rate is below state term vendor pricing as listed on Ohio DAS MSA0004-2 which is listed at $3,599.00 per month.

Staff recommends that City Council approve this resolution authorizing the City Manager to award and enter into a 36 month contract with Zayo for a renewal and increased bandwidth.
