Purpose & Explanation

City Council has requested that staff spend an additional $500,000 on the Annual Road Resurfacing programs for 2019.  This will allow additional alternate mill and resurface roads to be completed in 2019.  Pursuant to this Resolution, Staff is requesting a change order be authorized to the Perrin Asphalt Company’s 2019 Asphalt Resurfacing contract in the amount of $450,000 for the completion of alternate roads.  With the forthcoming second quarter appropriations, Staff will request both the above funding as well as an additional $50,000 for the Public Works Department to spend on asphalt road patching with Cardinal Asphalt (Note: the Cardinal Asphalt contract is open ended and does not require legislation authorizing a change order - only a modification to the currently budgeted appropriation amount).
