Resolution 10-121; authorization to develop the School Travel Plan.
Resolution 12-20; authorization to apply to SRTS (2012)
Resolution 13-18; authorization to apply to SRTS (2013)
Purpose & Explanation
The School Travel Plan has been approved by ODOT making the City of Hudson and Hudson School District eligible to apply for both infrastructure projects and non-infrastructure programs listed with the School Travel Plan. The grant submission process requires resolutions from the Board of Education and the Hudson City Council.
Resolutions need to be passed in February so that final grant submissions can occur by the March 1, 2014 submission deadline. The Safe Routes Hudson Executive Committee agreed to divide the grant submission process between the City and the School District, thus making each organization a contractual agent with the ability to spend the funds. We will continue working directly with the Safe Routes Hudson Committee in the implementation of any funded projects.
The application includes the following projects:
1. Evamere Bus Staging Area~$195,000
2. School Campus Pathway (Evamere to campus drive and walkway)~$70,000
3. Middleton Road Sidewalk~$250,000
4. N. Oviatt St. School Zone Flashing sign~$25,000
5. Bike Storage~$20,000
Timing Considerations
Once approved by Council, City Staff will proceed with submitting the application to ODOT.
