Purpose & Explanation
Staff sought funding the Federal Emergency Management Agency through a Fire Prevention and Safety Grant to fund the continuation of the Fire Safe Senior Program that was initiated through Fire Prevention & Safety Grant funding in 2019. The Fire Safe Senior program provides free fire safety products for Hudson residents over 65 that are living independently in their own homes. Funds will used to purchase secure key boxes and carbon monoxide detectors for distribution to qualifying residents. The Hudson Fire Department was awarded $46,342.86 on September 11, 2020. The City's match is $2,318.14. Funds must be accepted by October 11, 2020, 30 days after the notification date.
