Purpose & Explanation

The public and private development between the City and the Testa Company has evolved through many public input sessions and subsequent revisions to the proposed Downtown Phase II plans.  Both Planning Commission and Council approved a Preliminary Plan with a number of conditions to be addressed prior to Final Plan approval.  After holding additional listening sessions to hear citizen input, Council has requested draft ballot language to be submitted for their consideration. If Council approves the placement of an advisory ballot question, said question would appear at the May 7, 2019 Election.

Timing Considerations

Readings of this Resolution are scheduled for Council meetings on December 18, January 8 and January 22.  A certified copy of the adopted Resolution must be submitted to the Board of Elections no later than February 6, 2019, in order that the Issue to be placed on the May 7, 2019 Ballot for voters to decide.
