Body
Legislative History
Resolution No. 14-122, passed October 1, 2014, authorized the City Manager to enter into a contract with Magellan Advisors in an amount not to exceed $58,500.
Purpose & Explanation
The purpose of this presentation is to allow Magellan to present their findings and discuss options for the City should we decide to move forward with implementation of a broadband system.
Attached to this memo are three documents, as follows:
1.      Executive Summary
2.      Business Plan (large file)
3.      Survey Data (large file)
All three documents will also be available on the City's website.
Timing Considerations
Staff is looking for general direction from Council on its' desire to move forward with implementing the plan.  Assuming Council wants to implement the plan, we will continue to assess the recommendations, refine the project and ultimately come back to Council for approval of the needed financing, equipment purchases, staffing, contracting, etc. over the next several months.
Fiscal Impact
X  Appropriation Not Required.

Recommendation
Suggested Action
Staff recommends Council consider the results of the assessment, review the business plan and determine if we want to continue to move forward with implementing the plan.
