Purpose & Explanation
The project includes the signal, roadway, pedestrian walks, and improvements to the pavement and pedestrian access at the Prospect and SR 91 intersection. This signal is the result of the recommendations of the traffic impact study done for the Downtown 1st & Main Redevelopment Project in 2001. Since the initial study, two traffic engineering studies have been conducted at this intersection indicating that turn lanes are not warranted. The project includes improved lane widths on SR 91 and Prospect Street, bike lanes, curb (at returns & east on Prospect), sidewalks, storm sewer, streetlights, striping and signage. Arcadis' construction estimate for the project is approximately $767,000. The City of Hudson can receive up to $ 674,400 in federal funds for this project at the 20/80 AMATS funding split.
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the project will be bid in the Spring 2015.
