Purpose & Explanation
The Public Works Department has completed the Hudson Public Power electric rate and cost of service study. In 2014 Council was presented the results of the study.    The study, which analyzed Hudson Public Power's cost of service including power supply,   indicated that the current rate structure will not sustain the costs of service moving forward.  Courtney & Associates have developed an electric rate and structure adjustment recommendation for City Council's consideration.  Documents containing the rate adjustment information have been attached for review.
The last comprehensive electric rate adjustments taking into account cost of service and cost of power were passed by Hudson City Council on  4-3-96; Ord. 96-43. It should be noted that the newly proposed rate structure does not include recovering the current special ED rate arrangement.
