Title
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1042.03 AND 1042.04 OF THE STREETS, UTILITIES AND PUBLIC SERVICES CODE REVISING SEWER RATES FOR THE MUNICIPALITY.
Executive Summary:   This ordinance will amend the City's sewer rates.
Body
Legislative History
Sewer rates were last adjusted by Ordinance No. 14-61. The effective date of the last increase was the July 10, 2014 due date.
Purpose & Explanation
The 2015 Five-Year Plan projected the need for a 5% sewer rate increase.

A 5% increase will raise the base sewer rate from $8.86 to $9.30 per 100 cubic feet and the availability charge will increase from $10.43 to $10.95.  The average monthly residential sewer bill for 2014 was $63.57 so the increase would average $3.18 per month.  The flat rate for well-water customers (all other users of the sanitary sewerage system) will increase from $67.54 per month to $70.92 per month.
Timing Considerations
This Ordinance will receive three readings (May 19, June 2, and June 16), and a public hearing will be scheduled for June 2, 2015.  With passage on June 16, 2015, the increases would not be effective until the August 10, 2015 due date.
