Purpose & Explanation
Bids were received on July 7, 2015. Below is the Engineer's Estimate along with the respective bids.
Engineer's Estimate: $123,180.00
Insight Pipe Contracting, LP $113,385.00
Inland Waters Pollution Control, Inc. $126,382.50

The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Insight Pipe Contracting, LP for the 2015 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Lining Project. The Engineering Staff is requesting a 5% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction.

Due to the storm portion of the contract coming in under budget, City Staff would like to perform an additional $27,972.00, worth of work, which includes 5% contingency. The total amount of the contract would be $147,026.25.
The additional work includes the lining of 330 lf of 12" storm pipe on Darien Drive and 230 lf of 15" storm pipe on Goshen Drive. Both of these areas have separated joints causing sink holes and a potential safety hazard.
Total Contract = $147,026.25 ($113,385.00-base + $5,669.25 base contingency+ $27,972.00 - additional storm)
