Purpose & Explanation
The Ohio Department of Transportation will be installing a noise wall along I-80 (Ohio Turnpike) within the corporation limits of the City of Hudson. The wall will be constructed within their property limits (R/W of the Turnpike). The limits of the work will be along a portion of Jesse Drive.

ODOT will be managing the project through to construction. The City's local share cost is a not to exceed cost of $145,000.00. The Turnpike Mitigation Grant in which the City of Hudson applied in 2014 will finance the remaining portion of the project which is approximately $1,100,000.
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by City Council, the City administration will enter into a contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the above stated amount.

Recommendation
Suggested Action
Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement and execute the necessary financial documents for the I-80 Noisewall Project with the Ohio Department of Transportation. The City staff is also requesting an emergency clause be added to the legislation in order to protect the public welfare and safety, and to keep this project and funding on schedule.
