Purpose & Explanation

The Hudson Fire Department is seeking funding assistance for the purchase of a washer-extractor with the capacity for four sets of turnout gear.  The Firefighter Exposure to Environmental Elements Program offers a 5-to-1 matching grant up to $15,000.  Equipment cost is $11,351.00.  The grant application is for $9,459.17.  The City of Hudson’s match will be $1,891.83.

Timing Considerations

The grant is open until funds run out.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council affirm the City Manager’s application for Firefighter Exposure to Environmental Elements Program funding through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation on behalf of the Hudson Fire Department.
