Res 16-190 Permission to bid
Purpose & Explanation
Bids were received on October 19, 2017 for the purchase of the major components needed as the first phase of the Prospect Substation Improvement project. The engineering design firm assisting with this project, GPD analyzed the proposals to make their recommendation on the lowest and best bid for the power control center and distribution transformer.
The city administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Myers Controlled Power LLC for the Prospect Substation Improvements for the purchase of the power control center. Staff is recommending Myers Controlled Power LLC as the lowest and best bidder due to the low bidder not meeting the bid specifications. The Public Works Staff is requesting a 5% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction. The total cost would be $847,640.00
Total Contract = $847,640 ($807,640 - base + $40,000 - contingency)
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a contract with Myers Power Control for the above amounts.
