A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT CLEAN OHIO TRAILS FUND GRANT FUNDING FROM THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES ON BEHALF OF THE HUDSON PARKS.

Resolution No. 17-12 authorized the City Manager to submit a grant application to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for a Clean Ohio Trails Fund Grant.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff sought $500,000 in grant funding from the Clean Ohio Trails Fund towards the completion of Phase IV of the Veterans Trail.  The estimated total project cost is $866,831.00.  The City of Hudson was eligible to apply for up to 75% of the cost of the trail or up to $500,000.  On October 23, 2017, ODNR notified staff that the City is eligible to receive up to $500,000 in reimbursement for the cost of Veterans Trail Phase IV, based on funding availability.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to accept a $500,000 Clean Ohio Trails Fund grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources on behalf of the Hudson Parks.
