Legislative History
15-68 - Authorized a Contract with GPD Group for Engineering Design Services for the Barlow Road Improvement Contract.
18-9 - Accepted ODNR Grant
Purpose & Explanation
The City of Hudson received a grant from ODNR for $500,000 to construct an asphalt pathway along the north side of Barlow Road from the Summit County Metro Trail at Terex Road, east to Ellsworth Golf Course. The pathway will connect to the Veterans Trail Phase 3 project which is also under design for construction in 2019 and is partially funded by the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (AMATS = $500,000). The ODNR Grant requires that the project be constructed with an 8 ft. wide asphalt pathway within 15-months of authorization (July, 2018) and in order to expedite this redesign work, we are asking for this addendum to the GPD Group original contract to design to the ODNR design criteria and to meet the ODNR timeline and specifications.
Estimated cost of construction for this pathway = $900,000.
