Body

Legislative History

Res. No. 17-148 enter into a contract with TMS Engineers, Inc. for the Downtown Phase 2 Traffic Study.

Purpose & Explanation

TMS Engineers has completed the original design based on the September, 2017 Downtown Phase 2 Conceptual Plan.  The proposed developer has made changes to the original roadway plan over the past several months and those changes include the traffic island on Morse Road, the north/south alignment through the wetland property, and the vacation of Owen Brown.  These changes were additional to the original scope.

Staff is requesting the $8,000 to the original contract to cover these changes.  It is our understanding the roadway layout is complete.

Timing Considerations

As soon as City Council approves the amendment, the consultant will complete the necessary changes to the study.

Fiscal Impact

                          Currently Budgeted

                     X                      Supplemental Appropriation Required (fund 441 - $8,000)

                       Appropriation Not Required.

Recommendation

Suggested Action

Staff recommends Council authorize the increase in the contract for TMS Engineers, Inc. and in order to preserve the health and welfare of the public, we are requesting an emergency clause be added to this in order to stay on schedule with the proposed Phase 2 Development.
