Executive Summary:  Council has requested that staff complete the remaining alternate streets in the amount of $400,000 that are part of the 2018 Asphalt Resurfacing Program.

18-23 - Authorized the City Manager to Execute a Change Order to the Contract with Ronyak to complete the remaining Asphalt Overlay Alternates

Purpose & Explanation

City Council has requested that staff spend an additional $400,000 on the road program for 2018.  This will allow all of the remaining alternate mill and resurface roads to be completed in 2018.  Staff is requesting a change order be authorized to Ronyak Paving’s 2018 Asphalt Resurfacing contract for the completion of these roads.

Timing Considerations

Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will issue a Change Order to the contract with Ronyak Paving, Inc.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a change order to the 2018 Asphalt Resurfacing and declaring an emergency for the health and public welfare of the traveling public.
