Purpose & Explanation
Bids were received on Friday, April 3, 2015 for the Ellsworth Hill Safe Routes to School Program (PID 96866). Below is the Engineer's Estimate along with the respective bids.
Engineer's Estimate: $127,478.20
Perrin Asphalt Company, Inc. $106,757.26
Daniel A. Terreri & Sons, Inc. $109,748.40
Spano Brothers Construction Co., Inc. $135,856.86
Perk Company, Inc. $216,340.60

The City Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Perrin Asphalt Company, Inc. for the Ellsworth Hill Safe Routes to School Program (PID 96866). The Engineering Staff is requesting a 10% contingency for any unforeseen issues that may arise during construction. The total amount would be $117,432.99.
Total Contract = $117,432.99 ($106,757.26-base + $10,675.73-contingency)
The City of Hudson received a grant from ODOT for SRTS for $50,000.00.
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a contract with Perrin Asphalt Company, Inc. for the above amounts.
