Purpose & Explanation

During construction of the Ellsworth Hill Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Project along Parkside Drive, additional expenses will be incurred above and beyond the 10% contingency amount originally approved by Council.  The additional expenses are for additional storm sewer installation, grading of drainage ditches and restoration along several roadside ditches in front of several homes.

The total amount that City Staff is requesting is $8,000.00.

Timing Considerations

Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will issue a Change Order to the contract with Perrin Asphalt Company, Inc.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a change order to the Ellsworth Hill Safe Routes to School Project, and we are requesting an emergency clause be added to this legislation in order to maintain the public health and welfare.
