Purpose & Explanation
The purpose of the project is to support future economic development along Hudson Drive and Hudson Gate Drive and for the future expansion of the Hudson water distribution system and Velocity Broadband fiber system.
The project, designed in-house, will include the installation of approximately 3,200 feet of new 12" water main, which is anticipated to be installed by horizontal directional drilling in order to minimize disturbance to the hike and bike trail and Hudson Drive. The project will also include the installation of a 2" conduit system along the hike and bike trail for future broadband fiber installation. See attached map for reference.
The estimated costs of construction of the project is $420,000. The estimated total cost of the project, including construction of the water main, fiber conduit, construction administration costs and 10% contingency, is approximately $484,000 ($420,000 for construction + $42,000 for 10% contingency + $22,000 for construction administration).
