Legislative History
Resolution No. 17-104, Accepting Federal Funds through the Municipal Bridge Program, passed July 18, 2017.
Resolution No. 18-71, Authorizing a Contract with Burgess & Niple for Engineering Design Services, passed May 15, 2018.
Purpose & Explanation
ODOT has a process that allows local public agencies (LPA) to administer projects that will use State or Federal funding. The process requires the LPA to enter into an agreement with ODOT for this process. The agreement requires the LPA to follow the State process for the contract. The LPA process allows for more local control of the design, and construction.

The project will be split between the State and City. The City was awarded $977,400 through the State's Municipal Bridge Fund. The City is responsible for all costs above the grant amount. The current estimated total construction cost of the project is $1,120,000. Any cost for right-of-way acquisition would be the responsibility of the City.

The project includes the design and construction for the replacement of the Ingleside Drive bridge over Brandywine Creek.
Timing Considerations
The City will enter into the LPA agreement following City Council's approval of this legislation.
